We Know What One 2021 Gun Control Bill Will Be

6/5/2020

Review-Journal: Clark County considers ban on backpacks at protests after violence

The county already bans bags at New Years' Eve to prevent people from smuggling in bombs (among other things). What they cannot do, thanks to preemption, is ban firearms from special events.

What I believe we will see in 2021 is a bill that would allow Clark County to put some restrictions on carrying firearms during special events. This would allow them to ban guns "legally" at special events, protests, or places like the Strip, etc. The regulation would be limited in scope to what would allow police to use carrying a gun to tell the sheep from the wolves.

Las Vegas is hurting economically. In 2019, NSSF threatened to pull SHOT Show from Las Vegas if preemption was repealed (allowing Clark County to ban assault weapons). The NSSF would certainly follow through if they did that again, causing devastating blow to the convention traffic for years to come. Casinos would loose money and the unions actually opposed the bill for that very reason.

With all the sudden focus on gun ownership, going full retard on gun control is a sucker's move. There isn't enough money in the Democrat Party to buy all the votes. Many Democrat voters have just woken up in the past few months to what a con-job gun control is.

Futhermore, making downtown or the Strip a "gun free zone." Is going to be a non-starter. Even with our retarded Supreme Court, I can't see them allowing public streets to be declared "gun free" 24/7 because reasons.

"Every citizen has the right to keep and bear arms for security and defense, for lawful hunting and recreational use and for other lawful purposes." Nevada State Constitution, Article 1, Section 11

So be advised; if it happens, you read it here first. In 2019, the watered-down preemption proposal was just to apply to Clark County itself. Plus, in 2017 Sisolak and the county commissioned whined that preemption kept them from passing a virtue-signal ban on bump fire stocks. They have already telegraphed their hand.

Of course these idiots forget that the last terrorist attack here involved a dude shooting outside the security perimeter, so...
