We need you to show up and demonstrate your resolve against more gun control in Nevada. Your voice opposing the terrible “Kitchen Sink” AB 291 gun control bill has helped take the worst provision out of the bill. But now, we face a new set of “poison pills” inserted into the bill. Tomorrow, the bill faces and 11th-hour vote. We must stop this bill here.
The hearing starts at 8 AM Wednesday 5/29 in Carson City and is broadcast to the Grant Sawyer Building in Las Vegas. We need you to turn out early to protest this bill. Can you attend the hearings?

AB 291 is an omnibus bill dealing with several loosely related matters. It contains an emotional and unnecessary ban against rate-increasing devices that could be construed to ban semi-automatic firearms. It would result in thousands of Nevadans becoming felons overnight and call for the confiscation and/or destruction of their property without compensation.
The bill has also been amended to include “red flag” gun confiscation laws. Someone could have their firearms taken by police upon the unsubstantiated complaint of a relative. Vague firearm “safe storage” laws have been added into the law to make Nevada’s already strong child safety protections muddled instead of clearly-defined as they are now. Both of these provisions carry serious questions about violating due-process.
Stop AB 291 here. If you cannot attend Wednesday morning, call, email, and share your opinion.
