Dirtbag Felon Arrested for Stealing Guns From Multiple Cars

Sounds like dude was targeting SHOT Show attendees, in part. Good work by Metro. 

A couple of quick things.

• If you leave a gun in the vehicle, lock it securely in a container that is attached to the vehicle. A thief can carry out a gun case that isn't wired to something solid in the vehicle or isn't bolted down. A locked glovebox is better, but far from foolproof. 
• How many of these guys had gun stickers on their car? That's like advertising there probably is a gun inside.
• I'll also bet some of this "tactical gear" was left visible in the car. Boring cars with nothing visible don't attract much attention. For SUV, use cargo covers in the cargo area.

Yes, theft is always the fault of the thief, but you can make it harder for them. Too many guns are stolen out of cars because people don't secure them, don't lock the doors, and assume criminals won't break the window. Even if you car is boring, someone might rifle through it. 

Lock it up or take it with you. And frankly, part of this is the fault of the casinos who discourage people from carrying or bringing guns up to their rooms.
