BLM Protester Negligently Discharges at Carson City Protest

8/30/2020

Carson Now

Note this was BLM protester, who more than likely recently bought the gun and has even less familiarity and training with it than even the most casual conservative openly carrying activist. Not that it can't happen to us too, but how many pro-gun right-wing people have you heard of having negligent discharges at open carry rallies? BLM supporters in Kentucky dealt with a ND recently, making that two in a month.

Carson City sheriff Kenny Furlong said this:
“Please, guns have accidents. An accident can turn into a tragedy in two seconds. We were very fortunate today.”

No Sheriff, an untrained idiot screwed up and negligently discharged. There are no "accidental" discharges, only negligent ones. True firearm malfunctions are so rare as to be not worth mentioning.

This ND happened probably because:
1. Idiot had his safety off.
2. Idiot had a round chambered.
3. Idiot wasn't making sure his trigger guard was clear of obstructions.
4. Idiot has little/no firearms familiarity or training.

You simply don't carry with your safety off, period. That's like driving drunk. Second, having a round chambered at an open carry rally is a liability (many OC rallies ask or require participants to flag their empty chambers).

These leftists are not ready for what they're asking for. Guns are not props, but rather serious tools. Here at Nevada Carry, we're quite critical of long-guns at rallies, though we aren't entirely against them. Here's a reason why casual, angry people looking to "do something" and appear tough and resolute shouldn't be toting rifles in public.

Now remember who did this to throw any anti-open carry legislation back in the face of the Legislature if (when) they propose it in 2021.
